Standard Visitor Visa - couldn't be used due to Covid restrictions

Post by mdmm18 » Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:08 pm

Hi,

A relative of ours have had his standard visitor visa issued late Feb 2020 for 6 months, which obviously couldn't be used due to the start of the pandemic. Is there a Home Office process or guidance for any refunds in this case?

Similarly, other relatives have had a 5 year standard visitor visa issued in early March 2020, so they couldn't really use it for 15 months (until travel restrictions were lifted), so is there a way to extend their visa beyond the original 5 year period?

Thank you.

No refund. He was granted what he applied for.

5 year visa, irrelevant that they couldn't travel. Not extension process in place.
