Use English.
Thank you for this.

I have some final questions as I want to apply next week. The form is ready and I have all the documents:

- I was away from 1 to 6 December 2016. When can I apply for naturalisation? On Dec 7, 2021?

- Do I need to provide my UK addresses of the last 5 or last 10 years in the UK? My understanding is 5 years.

- And finally, as to employment history, I  have been in the UK only 6 years. Do I need to provide my employment history abroad as well (to cover the 10 years)? My understanding is no, only UK employment history.

Many thanks!

Yes or the 8th.
- Do I need to provide my UK addresses of the last 5 or last 10 years in the UK? My understanding is 5 years.
5 years, as the form asks.
- And finally, as to employment history, I have been in the UK only 6 years. Do I need to provide my employment history abroad as well (to cover the 10 years)? My understanding is no, only UK employment history.
6 years, the question does say something like 10 years or however long you have been in the UK. You employment abroad is irrelevant

I think it should be Dec 8 - unless you returned on Dec 6 2016 - note quote from the guidance:
"For example, if your application is received/[submitted] on 05/01/2022 you should have been physically present in the UK on 06/01/2017. "

- Do I need to provide my UK addresses of the last 5 or last 10 years in the UK? My understanding is 5 years.
Correct - 5 years only.

- And finally, as to employment history, I  have been in the UK only 6 years. Do I need to provide my employment history abroad as well (to cover the 10 years)? My understanding is no, only UK employment history.
Only provide your UK history, i.e. 6 years - the requirement is for 10 years or since you arrived if it is less than 10 years.

Many thanks!

I will do the 8th to be on the safe side then.
Thank you so much. I am looking forward to applying but I am a bit concerned about making mistakes.

As to the application date, looking at what you've posted, I think it could be December 6, 2021 then.
The example says: application date 5 Jan 2022 - need to be present in the UK on Jan 6 2017
Following that: application date 6 Dec 2021 - need to be present in the UK on Dec 7 2017.
My trip lasted from Dec 1, 2016 to Dec 6, 2016. The return date on my trip list is Dec 6.
Am I right abou this?

As the 6th Dec was the return date then it doesn't count (outward & return days don't count as absences).
So your planned application date 7th Dec is fine.

Yes as per the example you could have applied on 05 Dec 2021 as well. Applying on 06 Dec 2021 is definitely safe for 5 year route.

Thank you!

I've just submitted my application and uploaded the documents.
There is something unclear though.
In the documents checklist I am asked for: 1. passport  2. proof of nationality.
What do they mean by proof of nationality? They ask as a separated document from the passport. I am a EU citizen.

Also, I've uploaded all the documents but it's unclear to me when I need to press the button "submit". Do I need to do it or will that be done during the appointment?

Many thanks

Item 1 and 2 are the same, it's your passport - not sure why they have this requirement.
I believe when you hit "submit" for your documents they are submitted and you can't add anything else after that - others may comment further on this aspect.

It seems I am not obliged to submit the documents. I can do it at the appointment, right?

Verification checks form

Post by stegio80 » Wed Dec 15, 2021 7:12 pm

Could you please help me? There is a document that came up in my naturalisation account only today.
I submitted my supporting documents on Friday and this mandatory action (consent form) appeared only afterwards... It was not there just before I went to the appointment for biometrics...

Hello,
I contacted the Home Office in regard to the verification checks consent form by email in December, when such a form came up on my account just after going for the biometrics.
They've replied only today from MMST FMT NationalitySupportTeamFMT.
I was asked to fill the application form in and send it back by email. I guess they meant the "verification checks consent form", not the application form. I've just emailed them the verification checks consent form signed and a copy of my online application, just in case.
Is that email address the one used by caseworkers?
Does this mean they are reviewing my application?
Many thanks
