Addresses on P45 and P60

Post by Mattj44 » Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:43 am

Hi all, I'm in the final stage of gathering all documents for my application.

I will be using the following to prove my residency for the last 6 years:

Uni certificate and student loan paperwork Sept 2014-June 2017
Payslips and P45 October 2016 to August 2017
P60s and P45 (1st job since uni) August 2017 to July 2019
Payslips and P50s July 2019 to now
I also have a document from HMRC showing tax and ni paid for this period.

I realised that I never changed my address with previous employer and so one of my P60s and P45 has my old address on it. I'm concerned this will be an issue but wonder whether I'm overthinking it?

All the dates add up and are original documents and I also have the contract from this employer.

Is there any risk of my application being rejected on this ground?

Thanks for any help

This is not an issue - you can of course attach a note explaining this, for peace of mind.
Don't recall anyone being refused for an address mistake - applicants are refused for a small number of issues, primarily not satisfying statutory requirements.

Thanks for your reply! It's not a mistake as such, rather bad housekpeeing 😬🤣.

I have more than enough evidence etc.but didn't want to raise any red flags.

If I was to attach a cover letter, should I simply explain that I forgot to update the address when moving etc?

Final check before submitting application

Post by Mattj44 » Sat Feb 26, 2022 5:24 am

Hi all, it's been a pretty long and painful process to get everything together but I am finally ready to submit my British Citizenship Application.

Here's the breakdown:

Moved to the UK on 17th July 2007 and looking to apply within the next 2 weeks so my understanding is that I need evidence from March 2016? My evidence consists of:

September 2014 - July 2017- University Degree Certificate, Student Loan confirmation & enrolment letter. This also ticks the language requirement.
January 2017 - August 2017 -payslips and P45 for a part-time job
August 2017 - August 2019 - P60s, P45 & my original contract of employment
August 2019 - present - payslips, P60s, contract & HR letter. Does it matter if my payslips don't have addresses?

I also have a letter from HMRC detailing NI and tax I paid since 2016.

To prove I was present in the UK 5 years before my application, I have bank statements with transactions. Will that be sufficient?

Feel like I am going over the top with evidence but better safe than sorry, I guess- right?

To summarise, does all the above look sufficient to meet their requirements?
