Fiance visa claiming pip and benefits

Post by Rebreu » Sun Jan 23, 2022 4:52 am

Hi i am looking for advice on applying for a fiance visa for my partner.

I am severely disabled and claim the highest rate of pip on both mobility and care.
I do not work and claim ESA, child tax credit, child benefit and DLA for my 10yr old disabled son.
I also claim housing benefit and council tax benefit.
My rent is £390 per month and we have a 3 bedroom house with room for my partner, i have a tenancy agreement and have lived here for 3years.

Would i meet the income for adiquate matinence? Im not sure what benefits are allowed to be classed as income.

Thank you

Hi

yes provided you are on PIP you can use the income benefits, like
ESA, Child benefit , housing benefit, you need to check for the other benefits but I believe you can expect council tax benefit not sure

refer to this document online it has all examples and guidance
Appendix_FM_Section_1.7A_Adequate_maintenance_and_accommodation Sept 2021

or a similar adequate maintenance document and do the calculations

you need to show award letters, corresponding bank statements for 6 months etc.
