Hi. Two weeks ago I got my naturalisation certificate and I immediately applied for the British passport, so I posted my naturalisation certificate and current passport to the Passport Office and it looks like Royal Mail has lost it.
What are my options now? How do I get my British passport now? Worried that I will have to go through lots of paperworks now.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks

What evidence/proof do you have that royal mail lost it?
Did you send it recorded delivery or.....?

It is hasn’t been delivered to the passport office nor has been returned to me.
I am going to ask the post office to compensate me for the loss.

Which address did you send it to? Was it a PO Box??
Have you contacted HMPO at all?

You do realise delivery to a PO box can't be "signed for".

that is irrelevant.
I have worked in the post office. When you post something 'signed for' to a PO Box, the status of your delivery will change to 'signed' as soon as the item is collected from the PO Box.
some PO Box holders would collect daily some every four weeks.

Also HMPO is clearly saying to send signed delivery for below address only as below ,
instrusction given in mail,
Use a strong envelope that is the right size for your documents. Check the weight and pay the correct postage – consider using signed for delivery. Send them to:
HM Passport Office
PO BOX 231
Redgrave Court

Royal Mail ist class sign for is not a tracked service. It means signature on delivery.royal mail will update the delivery information after delivery. However sometime it’s not available online, get in touch with Royal Mail customer service they may be able to confirm delivery.
In case of loss Royal Mail only pay up to £50 as compensation.

I had posted this question in another two thread (one was old ,it get delteld and locked ,then i was thinking i should open my own thread -open new -it was locked without any comments )-Not sure why ?
below is my qurey -,
Does any one facing delay in reciving text / email confirmation received for supporting documents sent to passport office -Bottle -HMPO?
I had send 8 days before via secuire delivey (royal mail confirms and given POD with sign next day itself ) . But no update from Bottle -HMPO.
Is this usual delays ?
