Child born outside UK to ILR parents

Post by punitsurana » Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:49 pm

Hi Moderators/All,

Hope you are all well. Requesting your guidance please

My Wife and I are both ILR holders. We both still hold Indian Passport.
Our child is born in India.
Reading through the forum, it looks like we first need to get ILR for the Child(from India) and after a year of ILR grant to the child, we all can apply for naturalisation together.
Is this correct?

If so, what form do I use to apply for ILR of my child from India?

Any other information or guidance you can provide will be highly useful.

Thanks in advance,
Punit

Hi Vinny,

Many thanks for your response and apologies for more queries
1) Reading the forum about MN1 timelines on this forum, I understand that the typical timelines are around 4-6 months. Is that correct?
2) Is there any other way(visitor visa etc) via which the Child can come to UK and MN1 can be processed from here?

Thanks for your continued guidance.

Thanks and Regards,
Punit

Thanks Vinny.
Can you also comment on the indicative timeline. Appreciate no one can confirm this and is case by case but wanted to get an idea.
