Travel on EU passport after naturalisation

Hello,
Is it possible for someone who has naturalised British to travel on their EU passport if they haven't received their British passport yet? My assumption is yes as EU citizens don't require a visa to travel to the UK and airlines don't check pre-settled or settled status.
Could you please confirm?

As EU citizen you are visa free so no issue to board flight. Note: the naturalisation certificate (referred to in my post above) is not a recognised travel document.
