Child naturalization born in ireland(timeframe)

Post by zaza7625 » Thu Feb 17, 2022 2:17 pm

Hi all
My ch ild was born here in ireland but she had not been granted by citizenship due to not sufficient residence time for us parents. However she has irish birth certificate and she is EU citizen
What is the approximate timeframe for kids naturalisation.
And another question: if she leaves country and comes back when she is 18 years of age, can she apply for citizenship straightaway not waiting the accumulation of 5 years residence in Ireland?
Thanks

What exactly do you mean by the timeline?
If you want to know how long does it take between application submission and the certificate, take a look at timeline topics (some people applied for their children and posted about it).
In terms of leaving and applying at 18 - no, she will need to get her residence accumulated again, unless she left when she was 14 or so (5 out of last 9 years count, if I'm not mistaken).
