Obie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 11:21 amThe law is that in the last 4 years prior to naturalisation, you should have a total of 3 years residence in the state.
The final year should be contiuous residence.
But you are then allowed to chose any 2 years in the 4 years preceding the naturalisation application.
You certainly cannot choose 2011.
However you may choose 2018, 2020, 2021.
However August 2021 to August 2022 must be continuous residence in the state. So long as that is met, you can choose any 2 years in the 4 years period.
I know, i am only indirectly asking you on my own.Obie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 10:55 amI did not say that at all, the OP never gave those dates.johnpromise01 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 10:51 amDo you mean he can use:

If he had given those dates, he would not have received that response from me.

Is there any document required to prove the final year continuous residence other than Passport?
I believe whichever suits best for you, one of my friend start on the month he've landed into Ireland. like Sep2016 to Aug2017 as 1 year. I believe as long as its reasonable and explained in the cover letter how you presenting your evidence.. then it should be fine..JohnX wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 11:29 amHi,
But is the three year proof of residence calculated on the calendar years i.e. January to December for each year you were in Ireland or is it calculated on counting three years back from the date you apply, that is if you apply in say Aug 2022 your three years you must supply proof of residency are Aug 2019 to Aug 20210, Aug 2020 to Aug 2021, finally Aug 2021 to Aug 2022. ?
That is the method I was going to use.
It is impossible to know if they replied reasonably, as we do not know the exact query you sent. If your query was not 100% clear, due to workload, you would expect them to skim over the issue and not take the long time to read between the lines unfortunately.zahid z wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 12:04 amAfter waiting for so long this is the reply i got from INIS which is not even what i have asked
"Thank you for your email. Please be advised you would have to submit
residency proofs for the years of residency claimed on the residency
calculator."

Your bank account would be sound here as well, along with the potential of giving monthly, paid utility bills if INIS asks for them.johnpromise01 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 11:47 amObie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 11:21 amThe law is that in the last 4 years prior to naturalisation, you should have a total of 3 years residence in the state.
