I got my yes letter last week , applied mid dec 2005. hope everybody else get their news soon.
Many congratulations Dan10.

For the benefit of us suckers still wating :), could you by any chance let us know:

1. Did they ask for additional documents?
2. If yes, when, and how long did it take from when you sent them in till you got your yes letter.

Congrats again!
ashimashi

1. they did ask for birth certificate and marriage cert in june08 , i used to send my p21 whenever i get from revenue for last 2 years.
Thanks. That's in line with the speculation that it takes 4-6 month from when they ask for the docs till the final decision.

Now go and enjoy your new-found freedom :)

Congratulations Dan10

Thank god you haven't run away and forgot everyone behind as bloody foreigner did.

It will be great if anyone who gets a YES please post the following in the closing message. This will help everyone and stop chasing questions:

1. Month/Year applied
2. Any documents requested (if yes when)

This will allow every one to compare their own status.

Many thanks

I am:
Another one of you

Applied: End November 2006
Payslips & Statements Requested: 20th October 2008
No Affidavits requested
No P21 Requested, as I've been sending it every year.

Japers they are lashing through them!
I applied in May 06 and was requested additional docs only on 08 OCT.
I think they may have finally realised the potential for making loads of money from us in this difficult times :) Considering they have just recently increased the fees... put 2 and 2 together...

I am so confused now, I applied July 06, got confirmation of my application mid August 06.
So far still didn't' get any request for extra docs, while I didn't send them any P21 or any docs since July 06.
And now I see ppl applied on Oct/ Nov. 06 and they are asking them for extra documents.

Is there is any logic here behind the delay ?

I am in the sam eboat. Applied July 2006 in last week. Recieved acknowledgement on 8 August 2006.

I recieved next letter in Nov 2006 that my application is now in the queue.

I sent my P21 for 2007 earlier this year and recieved an acknowledgement in 2 weeks.

Haven't heard anything since then.

Yes but in my case, I didn't even sent them the P21.
So that’s way I am bit worried.

Just wanted to clarify on my previous post. I sent p21 for 2007 without them asking for it.

Hi Dublin1,

Currently they're processing the applications from june/jul/aug 06 apperently so I suggest you to write a letter to the both officies and ask the current status of your application with again your current address, in case they couldn't reach you through post. they normally write back in 10 days, but they do get back certainly.
regards,
AI

I think the bells should start ringing when the date on their website changes and you still don't hear from them. As the website says they are processing June 2006, I am still hopeful we should hear soon.

As for people who applpied in Nov-dec 06 and have heard from INIS, is it possible that they also applied for long term residency.

My brother had applied for the same in Aug 2007 and applied for naturalisation in Jan 2007 but he got a letter requetsing birth/mariage affidavits about 3 months back. He has since got his LTIR but no news after that on his naturalisation application.

I think sending the letter and waiting beside the mail box is the best option :)

I've stopped believing this based on all different messages on this forum.

Some in Dec 2006 have been naturalised others in Dec 2005 are still waiting and the website says July 2006 is being processed.

They're after the money..Not sure how many applications are still pending, but if you multiply the number by the EUR 950,- you'll see why they're actually expediting the process. The recession that Ireland is experiencing at the moment is actually in our favour..They're getting meillions out of this!
