Hi,

I submitted a citizenship application (MN1) for my 2.5 year old son on the 31st of Dec 2021, and submitted biometrics on 15th Jan 2022 in Croydon. Haven't heard anything at all so far from home office. Is this normal, or should I try contacting home office for a status update?

Applications can take up to 6 months, sometimes longer

But that doesn't mean I should wait till 6 months, before reaching out. Does it?

You won't get an update after only a short time. UKVI website clearly states 6 months

I have the exact same timelines. Got the decision last week. So, hopefully your is not far away. You just need to wait. There is not other option to follow up with HO. They will mail back the same generic response of 6 months SLA.
