Russian Wife - FLR (M) Timing - Urgent clarification please

My wife arrived in the UK on 14 September 2019. Am I correct that I can apply for her extension now as we are within 28 days of the 2.5 years and still be able to apply for indefinite leave next time? In light of what Putin has going on I want to apply as soon as possible in case steps are taken to limit visas which could split my family up.

She needs total of 60 months for SETM, rather 28days is a concession which will be used in her favour to ensure not falling short of getting a total of 60months or 5years.

If your wife has a leave upto 28 days remaining on her previous visa, it will be added to her new visa once granted so she will be getting 2.6 months meaning 31 months in excess.
