Hi All,

Been watching this forum for a while and was really useful. I had applied for Tier 1, switching from Fresh Talent
Collected the passport from Post Office today

Date Applied: 13th Oct (Royal Mail Next Day Delivery)
Payment Detected : 14th Oct( Postal Order, as they are cleared the same day)
Ack Letter: Received 17Oct th (Dated 14th Oct though)
Visa Stamping: 25th Oct (Tier 1 General)
Received docs: 29th Oct( Collected from PO on 30th)

I was switching from Fresh Talent to Tier 1. I had sent a Royal Mail Next day self addressed return envelope and mentioned to return my documents using that envelope in the covering letter along with a detailed break down of earnings and other points claimed.

NO UT sent but was planning to send one as I had to travel in December.

My turn to jump up and down.

Finally got my Tier 1 general visa for 3 years in exactly 20 days of applying.

My story
Current scheme - IGS since December 2007
Application for Tier 1 general
Sent - 10th October 08 with claiming 95+10+10 points with UK docs (Passport, Masters, payslips and bank statements)
Ack receipt date - 13th October 08, batch 320x
Visa dated 23rd October 2008 valid until 23rd october 2011
Passport and docs received on 30th October.

Hi,

I received my Tier 1 general visa today (switched from Work Permit)

Couriered - 7th October
Acknowledgement letter - 7th October
Payment taken out - 7th October
Visa dated 28th October
Passport and Docs received - 30th October

I didn't submit a UT, nor did I call anyone to check on the progress of my visa application so am very pleasantly surprised.

Hi everyone,

I applied for Tier I on Sept, 4th and now keep calling HO to check the status which is still under consideration. Today I have been told that the case worker is waiting for policy guidance to deal with my application. Has anyone had the same experience? What does it mean?

Hi,

It took me less than 3 weeks to get visa approved.

Applied on 15th Oct 08
Money was taken on 17th Oct 08
Letter received on 20th Oct 08 (Dated 17th Oct)
Approval letter and Docs received on 3rd Nov 08. ( My solicitor just informed me, and I should receive it hopefully tomorrow.

I was not worried because I had all the documents, however I didnt know how long it is going to take.

Anyways best of luck guys.

Thank you very much for your help and support, this forum is really helpful. I am very delighted today as i have recieved my documents today. 3 years visa approved.

There was a mess up made by Royal Mail, HO dispatched my documents on 29/10/2008 (as i have enclosed Special delivery pack) so i should had it on 30/10/2008 but Royal Mail send it back to HO without even delivering my post (still not understood why this has happened).

My case worker actually called me after my so many calls on 03/11/2008 and she told me that it came back to HO and she took my office address and told me that she is going to dispatch it on 04/11/2008 and gave me the tracking number as well.

And i got it today, Masha ALLAH everything is sorted, i am really happy, Thanks everyone and all the best wishes to those who are still waiting, trust me guys you will definately going to have it (its just waiting)..

I have been calling HO, but always get the answer "application is under consideration".
About your query "case worker is waiting for policy guidance ", I think the case worker wants to refer the latest Policy Guidance document...

Please update of you hear something from HO.

Hello All,

I've gone quickly through this topic and I'm sure it's a lot helpful, but I have some questions that would be great to have an answer for:)

1- What is the max processing time for Tier 1 (General) submitted from outside UK (Egypt); Also I'm not holding PW or HSMP or any thing, I'm applying for the first time.
2- I read about you guys are calling HO, should I call them as well or call the British embassy in Cairo? or Call whom exactly to know my application status?

It's the 6th week so far and I'm a little bit concerned, appreciating your response.

Apologies for replying late, yes i did UT on 27/10/2008 and approval date is same as well. I have mentioned the following details:

"I kindly request that I have to travel to my home country due to unavoidable circumstances hopefully by mid of November 2008. I would be truly very thankful if you can ponder my application under urgent treatment. However, please do not withdraw my application if urgent treatment is not granted."

I have also included the booking details and trust me it is always better to have some proofs/evidence to support your request.
