Student visa for brother

Hi all,

I have been livining in the UK for the past 4 years and now I am on the HSMP in the UK. My brother is willing to come here for Masters degree.

I would like to know:

1. is IELTS necessary for admissions and visa ( his bachelors degree and schooling was done in English)

2. is there anything i can do to help him. any sort of visa like dependant visa

Using your numbers;
1. Ask the university where he wishes to study if he needs IELTS or equivalent; it is based on their requirements.
2. No dependent visa, but you can act as his financial sponsor.
