There is no published indication of any deadline to apply.

Also, given that family members of Swiss citizens can qualify even if their family relationship started just before 1 January 2026, answer is, obviously, NO.

Where do you get that idea from?

Not an expert on EUSS but could this relate to the "Surinder Singh" route for EU family members of UK citizens?
I have seen this statement on a law firm's website:
".... On 29 March 2022 at 2300 GMT, the route for British Citizens to make applications under the EU Settlement Scheme for family permits for their family members to return with or join them in the UK will close."
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Now that you mention, I've heard something similar. I'm not familiar with the details, though.

In any case, that's very different from the scheme closing altogether.

Thanks. A few people who already applied for their families. They have been told by their solicitors. I sent them the official link which does not mention any such claims.

Not sure what you are referring to but it is clearly stated officially on gov.uk - ok a bit further down this page:
https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-ci ... ligibility

"If you’re applying as a family member of a British citizen who you lived with in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you must apply by 29 March 2022."
