Referees for naturalisation

Post by sunoo » Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:05 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am in process to apply for naturalization for my wife who just received her ILR last week. I understand that one of the question in online form is to provide 2 referees and I wanted to ask if I can add an IT Network engineer as a referee or it has to be someone else?

Please assist.

Refer to page 25 for a list of "acceptable professional persons" to act as referees:

Thanks.

Can someone please confirm that a family friend can be a referee?

A family friend can be a referee, so can colleagues, clients, employers, landlords, etc - as long as they satisfy the requirements for referees.

Employment history

Hi,

I am in process of filling naturalization application for my wife. One of question is regarding her employment. She never worked for anyone since she came to UK however she was self employed until 2020 and then she gave up due to Corona. So Shall I say YES or NO to this questions:

Have you had any other work over the past 10 years or since you came to the UK?

Regards

Declare the self-employment up to 2020 and remainder as unemployed (no issue).

Much appreciated.

Another question where it is asking for partner's naturalization's reference number and I have checked my certificate. It has certificate No as well as Reference No. Which one shall I enter?
