BRP expires 4 months before ILR (married to a british citizen)

Post by fasid » Wed Mar 16, 2022 2:42 pm

I was hoping to get advice on my Visa extension applications.

I am currently on Tier 2 Dependant visa which expires on 09-06-2022, also I am eligible for Indefinite leave to remain on 10-10-2022. There is a difference of only 4 months between both the visas.

Furthermore my husband is a British citizen and hence I will not have to wait for 12 full months before my British Citizen application.

I wanted to understand if there is a way to combine my Tier 2 dependant visa application and ILR application to save the processing time and fees involved based on the fact that I am dependant on a British National?

You will need to apply for a Skilled worker dependant visa (3y), ILR and then Citizenship. No way to skip one of them.

If it is just 1 month gap, you might be able to vary the extension application to ILR. But 4 months is a bit too long
