British citizenship application acceptable professional referee!

Post by 5am1224 » Mon Apr 25, 2022 12:28 am

I am applying for my citizenship. I got two referees, both are British citizens and over the age of 25, 1st is a legal consultant and the 2nd is an admin support in an educational institution. Would both of my referees be acceptable by the home office?
Many thanks in advance

Thanks for your response.
I have checked the list which is not very clear to me personally, hence I just wanted a confirmation from the form experts whether my referees would be acceptable or not!

The application fee is a big sum of money, so trying my best to avoid any mistakes that could lead to refusal.

All response will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Legal consultant - what is their profession (not the job title) - are they a solicitor or a para-legal?
NB. Issues with referees is not a ground for refusal.

Yes, my 1st referee is a qualified solicitor and my 2nd referee is an admin support in a secondary school.

Thanks

My apologies, so my first referee has just confirmed that they are not qualified solicitor but they hold a law degree, and the job title is consultant and training and developments manager.

Would that be sufficient ?
Thanks

We can only go by the list of acceptable professions provided in an earlier post.
A solicitor would have to be a member of their regulatory body, like other "Prefessionals" like accountants, architects, etc.

Morning all,

I have uploaded the following documents onto the IDV app to support my naturalisation application

1- current passport with all stamps
2- previous passport with all stamps along with my first entry into the UK stamp
3- my ILR card front & back
4- marriage certificate
5- English B1.1 certificate
6- Life in the UK test ref number
7- Partner current Passport and naturalisation certificate
8- Partner’s P60 for the past 5 years

Have I missed anything? Please advise!

Also, do I still need to post the original documents to the Home Office along with the referees declaration and my 3 signed consent forms?

Many thanks

Thank you so much for your response.

Just the last thing, there are 3 parts in the consent forms. I understand the 1st part is for me to sign as am the applicant.
For part 2 & 3, do I have to get them signed by my partner even though we haven’t provided any joint names bank statement for this naturalisation application and I am the only applicant?

The consent forms, do I need to post them as a hard copy or just upload them to the IDV app?

Please let me know.

Many thanks in advance

I believe just part 1 is required in your case. Upload with the other documents - I understand these are data related documents required for any application now.

Many thanks for your response.

My understanding is 1st form is for myself to sign, the 2nd form is it not signed by my partner?

So all documents will be uploaded to the app and no hard copies or passport required to be sent by post?

All responses will be much appreciated!

Thanks

Traffic offence and citizenship!

Post by 5am1224 » Tue May 10, 2022 8:25 pm

Hi,
I have applied for my naturalisation already. Today, I was out in the car and found a parking spot. I parked my car and unfastened my child seat belt and left the car, then found that the parking spot wasn’t suitable, so I got back in the car with my child but didn’t put his seatbelt and moved the car under 20 m/h looking for a suitable parking place. Sadly, I have been stopped by the police and been told that I epithet face a fine, points or court. I explained what has happened and I was on,y looking for a parking spot, buy they didn’t want to know.
I shall receive the decision by post they said.

Would that affect my citizenship application?

Thanks

Could someone please help!!
If I have already applied for my citizenship last week and yesterday been stoped by the police because my child wasn’t wearing the seatbelt, would this lead to refusal???

I have never been involved in any offences throughout my entire life, and this one was completely unintentionally. I am still waiting for the letter to find out whether it’s a penalty, points or court.

Please someone get back to me ASAP as I am really depressed.

Thanks

Contact a immigration solicitor if your desperate as every case is different, what is the traffic offence for? Not putting the belt on the child?
