Passport Being Processed

Hi Folks, looking for some guidance.

I, along with wife and kid had applied for our first British passport after Naturalization. The other two have got the passport while for me, I'm still waiting. Applied on 10Mar, Documents delivered on 14Mar and confirmed by HMPO on 28Mar.

HMPO says its still waiting for an Examiner. Any idea why some applications go into "Application being Processed" queue and then take forever? People who applied after me, have received their Passports.

HMPO won't consider any reasons other than Compassionate. I have already written to the MP and he is waiting to hear back.

We pretty much have the same timeline. Applied on 9th of March, "Documents received" on 28th and went into "Application being processed" on 29th. No updates since then. Looking at the timeline, almost everyone got their approval quicker than this. How did you find out it's still waiting for an examiner? Also how did you apply?

Applied online. Used the webchat feature once and called them a week later. Same response. Application waiting to be looked at. Good luck,

Also, I see a pattern in the "Application being Processed" cases. I believe they will pick it up ~4 weeks later. So, yours should be examiner this week and hope you hear back soon.

I hope so. If I don't hear from them this week I'll start chasing them next week. Not that I think it will change anything but waiting without doing anything is killing me. Last year my BRP arrived 2 days before my flight. Now going through the same stress again!

Please let me know how this goes. Their call center number doesn't connect and webchat is useless. I had a travel plan for 2May which is not possible now.

Awesome. Thanks. My prediction came true. Mine might get done mid May then. Mine went into processing only on 19Apr even though the documents were confirmed 29Mar.
