Extension submit ALL my passports?

Post by intgral » Fri Nov 07, 2008 3:20 pm

I am reading the T1 form and it states that all passports need to be submitted with the application, unless there are significant reasons for not doing so, exemplified in the form.

The reason for submitting only the main passport would be so I can travel with the other one(s). Must I submit ALL my passports? It seems ridiculous but, please advise from experience.

Thank you.

I think the Idea is so that you are in the country while your Tier 1 is approved and also so that possibly you get the stamp in all of the passports as not to cause any discrepancies, and in case you take the wrong one on holiday and can't get back in the country.... not fun!

There’s probably some other reason as well but this is what I would assume.

I believe, once you get a new passport (or additional booklet as they call it in India), all your previous passports are invalid and you are need to show the latest one while leaving your home country and entering a different country. Even though some of the visas are stamped on the previous passports you are adviced to get them transferred to your new passport (although this is not mandatory).

Also, In you case I think your UK visa is on a previous passport and you are thing the you can take that one on your holiday.

How are the HO officials going to verify your present immigration category if they don't get to see the valid UK visa.

Submitting all the previous passports is mandatory unless you have lost some of them in between.

Think about it. It's not fun and can lead you into BIG trouble.

I assumed you were referring to diffrent passports of nationality that are all valid? If not, the above post is very accurate.

There should be only one stamp in the main passport. I have never heard of multiple stamps/visas in separate passports for the same application.

As far as being in UK while this is completed, I would think that all the information provided is in the application. To hope that I can provide anything else while I am here, is futile.

My main concern is that I'm looking to visit my family outside UK for the holidays, and if I apply after that, I risk being out of status. Some conundrum!

Anyone else experienced this, or I will be the "guinea pig" for this?

Thank you.

Your concept of the "main passort" seems to be flawed. If all these passports are of same nationality, then the latest one is your "passport", rest all are just previous booklets (which can have valid visas).

Moreover you have to be in the UK if your "passport" is in the UK. Also, its OK that you have provided all the information to them but they need all the supporting evidences (including the present valid passport and all previous booklets - if any one of these is lost you may need to provide police report about this).

Main passport for UK purposes is the one I have used it for the employment in this country. I can have as many passports as I can (and this has been debated somewhere else on the number of them), that are all valid and of different citizenships around the world. None of them are booklets.

Moreover, providing a passport does not hold one linked to a country. It is provided as proof of who you are. Many people have many passports and use them as needed. There is no one country in the world that should be concerned with the business of you owning such, unless it is illegal in said country. As of this writing, UK recognizes multiple citizenships, so there is nothing illegal in that.

We should get over the fact that we are no longer slaves of any particular country and are, more or less, free to move about the world.

I appreciate your answers but, I am looking for specific evidence or experience with this scenario.

Thank you.

To avoid any confusion regarding multiple nationalities, I specifically mentioned this above.

Correct, and I clarified that is not the case. None of them are booklets or come from the same country.

Please help to the point.

Thank you.
