Hi, I applied on 23rd November 2020.Evettting done by 7th of February 2022. I sent email them on 5th of April 2022 asking about my application update. They reply me back next day that my application already submitted to the minister office for decision. Since then waiting for approval.

I also applied for my daughter. Its been 28th month no approval letter....I sent them email for update last month they replied same for my daughter that they already submitted in minister office for decision.
Don't know how long it will take. Is anyone has got same reply????

You applied in Nov, 2020 and it's been 18+ months not 28 months.

No idea what the held up is. I applied in December 2020 and my evetting disclosure was viewed in Feb 9th 2022 and no news.

I can see people who applied before me but got evetting completed a month after my evetting, got approvals which is fair coz they are in front of queue.

What has always been bizarre rather typical of Citizenship Team is issue approvals for people who are in the back of the queue even for straight forward applications. For example January 2021 applicants getting approvals not that I am not happy for anyone who got approvals already :)

I can only reckon we should be getting it in the next few weeks if they are planning for a ceremony in June.

Good luck to us!

Add me to the forgotten crowd :D I applied in June 2020 and still no e-vetting or anything as well. A friend of mine who has a very similar profile to mine and who has applied after me got her approval 3 weeks ago.

I'm being optimistic now and hoping that everyone who's been waiting will get good news soon but will have to attend the ceremony in June.

I already have travel plans in June, would that be an issue? Does anyone know?

In the same boat as some other 'forgotten' ones here. Applied October 2020, e-vetting complete beginning of Feb this year. I was hoping to be in the same lot of approvals as others from the same period but nothing yet. Emailed last week and the form of response they used in (surprisingly fast) reply was "Your application is being prepared for submission to the Minister, it has not yet been submitted. You will be informed of the Ministers decision as expeditiously as possible." so i'm not sure how much to read into that but sounds like it might still be a long wait.

I'd also be interested to know if people are being offered a 'choice' between ceremony and declaration and what the situation will be after this ceremony (if it goes ahead) in June?

I remember people who were approved here in early April saying they had 4 weeks or they would have to attend the ceremony. I imagine anyone approved from now on until the ceremony will have to attend. The funny thing is that we are 1/3 of the month gone and I haven't seen any new approvals here in May :? .

I said this in another thread, I hope they don't stop with the declaration cause otherwise they gonna make people wait another 6 months until the next ceremony in December, which is just silly. They approved people who applied less than a month earlier than me in April so I'm hoping to be in for June, waiting until December is gonna be a pain.

For people attending ceremony, will they issue Naturalisation Certificate during the ceremony? Thanks in advance.

Cheers. I suppose getting the approval this month or days before ceremony date and going for ceremony would be the fastest way to get Naturalisation Certificate.

I think it would only makes sense for Citizenship Team to issue bulk approvals this month coz they could issue tonnes of certificate during ceremony and clear their backlog which they are under pressure to clear.

We can only hope!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there is a limit on number of people that can attend the ceremony?
As much as I would love to see bulk approvals, I don't expect that to happen. Even though I really hope that I am totally wrong.

Yes there is a limit.

I have received approval today and they have started that the process of swearing of the oath of fidelity will cease.

I reckon it would only make sense to issue a bulk approval for June ceremony in Killarney. So it would be mandatory for people who will be getting approval from now on to attend ceremony.

Look forward to attending ceremony next month n hoping to receive invitation in few weeks.

Just out of curiosity, what's the wording they used? I was hoping they would stop with the oath of fidelity for now until the ceremony but would bring it back after to keep approving people between July and October so then in November they approve people for the ceremony in December, more or less like they are doing now. :?

Congratulations @raja.brit! Always good to see someone from our cohort getting approved.

Do they say what would happen if you can't attend the ceremony?

Congrats mate. glad to see your journey ending here.

I agree with you. Hoping to see surge in approvals in coming months.

Minister for Justice mentioned couple of days ago that current processing time for successful naturalisation applications was 19 months. Slight improvement there

Minister for Justice (Deputy Helen McEntee): At the end of April 2022, the median processing time for successful naturalisation applications was 19 months.
