Hi and General Advice request - Spousal

Post by Kimi31 » Sat May 07, 2022 7:40 pm

Hi

We are at the info gathering stage right now and I’m pretty clear as to what we need to do. My Soon to be husband is a South African national living in South Africa.

We’ll be applying for a spousal visa once we’re married, which hopefully will be in the next 6-12 months
He has an 8 yr old daughter, that may be coming with him to the UK. ( legalities of that are in the works right now)
One thing I can’t find after trailing the internet is how much more it costs to add his daughter into his application. And I can’t find the NHS costs for the dependent child on an application.

Does anyone have any info on this scenario please?

Where is the child's mother?

To bring a child he has to prove he has some responsibility for the child.

If both come, it is 2 X applications, 2 X visa fees and 2 X IHS fees. There is no discount or exemption.

Presumably you earn the requirement to sponsor a spouse plus a child?

Hi
Yes I earn the requirements to sponsor partner and child
Child’s mum is in South Africa also.
They are trying to sort out legal custody. It’s not yet decided.
I’m Playing out scenarios so we can save up for the fees

Thanks 😊

Suggest read through the link below. It is a bit more than simply custody.
