Yes there is a limit.

I have received approval today and they have started that the process of swearing of the oath of fidelity will cease.

I reckon it would only make sense to issue a bulk approval for June ceremony in Killarney. So it would be mandatory for people who will be getting approval from now on to attend ceremony.
Just out of curiosity, what's the wording they used? I was hoping they would stop with the oath of fidelity for now until the ceremony but would bring it back after to keep approving people between July and October so then in November they approve people for the ceremony in December, more or less like they are doing now. :?

Just to summarise they mentioned that temporary process of oath of fidelity will cease and the process was originally introduced to facilitate Covid 19 naturalisation process. If you dont complete the payment steps, the application process cant be completed until next ceremony in December 2022.

Hope it helps.

Congratulations @raja.brit! Always good to see someone from our cohort getting approved.

Do they say what would happen if you can't attend the ceremony?
Nope but they mentioned that if you dont make payment within 10days to be included in June ceremony, application process cant be completed until next ceremony in December

Ah sounds like it's gone for good then, which sucks. I'm from Feb 21, they approved people in Jan 21 in the last few weeks. If I don't get to this ceremony now then it's another 6 months of torture for me. With the oath of fidelity I could hope for an earlier approval but seems like for whatever reason they prefer to make people wait unnecessarily. They could approve way many more people trough the year by keeping it.

Previous ceremonies pre-covid they had around 3000 people attending, let's hope they keep that number at least.

There are currently 26,934 applications on hand at various stages of processing, of which 4,631 applications (17%) were received prior to 1 May 2020. Of the applications in progress, 3,191 have been issued with a decision but the applicant has yet to complete the required declaration of fidelity process.
4,631 applicants waiting more than two years. https://justice.ie/en/JELR/Pages/PQ-10-05-2022-619

Looking at funny side, we received our EU3 PR approval by registered post (INIS) where I paid €0.00 while we spend about €1000+ n Citizenship Team sends approval in normal post, they play it low key I suppose 😉

I understand.

They should enforce system like in the UK to hold frequent ceremonies in local City Council or offer premium fee for private ceremonies rather than being so rigid on they seasonal ceremonies.

In your case if wont make sense for them to make you wait till December should they send you approval after June Ceremony.

I have submitted my application in December 2020 and got the evetting completed recently, if I don’t get the approval for June ceremony and the dept stops oath of fidelity and have to wait for next ceremony will be heartbreaking it’s like wait for over 24 months.

I wish, I hope …I get the approval before June ceremony.

Applied August 2020, after hearing nothing for a year, I applied for FoI in Sept 2021. This showed that my application had been paper checked and Garda vetting completed Feb 2021. They also wanted my references signatures again (wet ink not digital) even though they paperwork check when I applied had been initialed at the time. New sigs sent I sat and waited. Still nothing.

Another email at Christmas 2021 asking for an update did not get a response. Preparation for JR at Month 23 (which would have been July) 2022, I sent a second FoI April 2022 and last week I received my approval letter on Friday.

The approval states that I will get my certificate at the in person ceremony in Killarney on 20th June 2022. If I missed that, the next one would be Dec 2022. I think its a little strange them getting rid of the postal certificates completely in favour of in person (purely because I am a 10 hour round trip from KIllarney). Would have been nice to have had the option of one or the other. But listen, "beggars can't be choosers" as the saying goes, I am grateful to have the update and iron clad date where I will get it my citizenship. It beats eagerly running to the postbox every morning only to be disappointed its empty)

I still want to complete the FoI and write to them about the process, 22 months is a very long time to wait for an application with 0 clarity or transparency. Issues with Covid aside, it's been horrible dealing with them. Though I can imagine other parts of the civil service are the same.

OMG you're right, LOL!!! I'm so glad you're included in this ceremony, I wish I was too :( Quick question - do you pay the 950 euro online or you have to physically go to the bank?

I paid online but did a booboo coz I used my mom’s online account instead of creating my new account as we share the same email address.

Not sure if this is going delay or cause any issues for me n I can only hope I will be included in the ceremony.

Hey oakers / all

I made a payment online for citizenship fee past Saturday but still haven’t got any confirmation email after the payment.

May I know how long it takes to get an email confirmation?

My online status states submitted and blank under acknowledgment ID.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Note: I did submit payment under my mother’s online account accidentally as we share the same email. Not sure if I need to resubmit the payment again.

Can you log on to banking online and see if the payment has gone through?

Hey Oaker, appreciate your response bud.

I made the payment again now by creating a new account under my name as I accidentally used mum’s online account.

I got a confirmation email now for payment on new account, phew.

I have emailed Citizenship Team to issue a refund for the 1st one as it was done under incorrect online account.

What a fandango,ha.

Hope all is well with you!

All good here. It seems I just scraped in under the "Sign this document" banner as I don't have to attend the ceremony by the looks of it.

Fingers crossed it arrives soon.

I bet you will get it soon n you must be thrilled to receive it. Bummer I have to attend the ceremony but at least Killarney is not far from my place. I heard it takes ages to get passport too.

By the way, I logged in to my mum’s INIS Online account n I see there is no reference number for Citizenship Certificate payment I submitted 2 days ago n dont see any pending transaction yet either on my card. May be it never went through. I do see a reference number for the online account that I created today which triggered an email confirmation.
