Can someone change ILR category? Switch ILR route

If someone already Hold ILr then is he allowed to change to different route if eligible? If not why not
Is there any particular legislation or guidance that stop someone already Hold ILR not to change route ?
We have seen cases where people already held ILR different route and were also granted Eu settle status.

Not entirely sure what you're saying. ILR is settlement. EU settlement is settlement. Just a different name in a different category. Neither gives an added advantage over the other.
Only British Citizenship trumps either of them. Because a Brit has right of abode.

Further to TickTack's advice. Once you have been granted ILR you are no longer under UK Immigration control, so switching visa categories now isn't relevant.

There are few difference and advantages by changing ILR category for example

If someone Hold hold ILR in different category and if he also get eu settle status then this allow him stay abroad more then 2 years and his ILR leave wont lapse

Other example if someone hold ILR protection route and change or get ILR based on Long residence or eu settle this can also make difference because ILR based on Long residence or eu settle status they will be allowed to use national passport

Question is can someone change or switch ILR ?
There are no guidence or legislation available that stop people changing or switching ILR category. Although status remain same but categories different with different eligibility requirements

UKVI allow people change Humantarian leave to Refugee leave but do they also allow if someone want change refugee to humantarian leave ? If so what is the procedure if not why not ?

My 2nd question
If someone wants to given up refugee status even if they hold ILR then can they apply for other leave to remain if they eligible and meet the requirements ?

For example when someone renounce citizenship and then can apply for ILR if they meet the requirements

Existing limited or indefinite leave to enter or remain

Those with limited leave can apply to the Scheme any time after their limited leave expires so long as they have reasonable grounds for applying late in line with the overall guidance. Those with indefinite leave do not need to apply at all, but there may come a point in time that they want to do so to acquire the additional rights that come attached to settled status. They can apply late to the scheme so long as they demonstrate reasonable grounds for missing the deadline, in line with the guidance.

Additional rights of ILR settled status under Appendix EU includes a more generous absence limit of 5 years rather than the normal 2 years.
