PBS Skilled worker Dependent extension visa

Post by mastidl » Fri Apr 22, 2022 9:59 am

Hi,

I have searched for answers about these questions but could not able to find it. I am sorry if I overlooked and reposting it.
I am applying for skilled worker visa extension (previously I was on Tier-2 General) and as my current visa getting expired, my family also applying for extension.

I have below questions while applying for my spouse dependent extension visa

1)Do you have one of these permissions to be in the UK?
Visitor or short term student for less than 6 months
Answer: No

2)Confirm if you are relying on evidence of funds available for your maintenance and accommodation provided by Mr XYZ in their application
Answer: Yes - Mr XYZ has supplied evidence of funds for maintenance and accommodation.

Could you please confirm whether my answers are correct for above 2 questions. I am using this form PBS, Start-up, Innovator or Global Talent dependant partner as we are already in the UK.

This is just to know about the new change
3) By using UK Immigration ID check APP if we apply, can we get the physical BRP?
one of my friend applied in March 2022 and got the physical BRP but in the gov.uk its mentioned only digital version if you use the App. I am confused what to use now.

Thanks you.

1 Correct
2 Applicants who have been in the UK for more than 12 months do not need to provide maintenance evidence. Didn't the form ask you that before this question?
3 You may still get the physical card now, but it can change overnight. If you are concerned, select you cannot use the app to revert to traditional way.

Seems like a glitch.

You do not need to provide maintenance evidence for your own application and i assume you haven't. In that case, you should answer no.

While I am trying to pay the IHS fees for my spouse, its asked couple of questions related to the main applicant work start and end dates and also visa expiry date.

What would be the visa expiry date of the main applicant? I tried to enter current expiry date on the BRP which is in 2 months, IHS fee calculated for only 6 months and showed me £312 instead of £1248.

Please suggest.

Thanks

I kept the COS end date as visa end date.

Your new visa expiry date will be 14 days after the work end date on CoS

Thank you for the reply

1)My work end date is 30 Jun 2024 as per COS so do I need add 14 days or will it be added automatically.

2)While trying to pay the IHS fees, its showing the fees as £1560 which is calculated for 2 year 6 months.
My current visa expires on 14 Jul 2022
work start date: 1 Jul 2022 and end date: 30 Jun 2024 as per new COS

but why its showing 2 years 6 months fees instead of 2 years fees which is £1248

Thank you.

Hi ,

I have also applied for PBS dependent using the "UK Immigration ID check App".
May I know if this makes the visa process faster?

Also if we don't get a physical BRP what document can we show while travelling outside the UK and re-entering?

Best,

IHS fees doubt - PBS dependant visa extension

Post by mastidl » Sat May 14, 2022 2:38 pm

Hi,

My sincere apologies if its repost.

Currently I am in UK and on tier-2 general visa . Recently my company applied visa extension for me. I am doing the visa extension for my family. Currently I have valid visa till 14 Jul 2022 and awaiting for new visa.

I have got the new COS. As per new COS, start date: 1 Jul 2022 and end date: 30 Jun 2024.

While trying to pay the IHs fees, its showing the fees as £1560 even though I am applying for 2 years and COS dates also shows 2 years.

What I am trying to understand is why its showing more as it supposed to show me £1248.

Am I doing anything incorrect in the application. If not, will I get refund or will I get it for more time on the visa ?

Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think the IHS for a PBS dependents visa is automatically calculated over a 2.5 years period.

Not sure if you would qualify for a partial refund. Wait for others to advise.

Yeah it seems its calculating for 2.5 years but my spouse has the valid visa which is after the new COS start date and the system is not considering this at all.
I would like to know if anyone was in the same situation and got refund so that I can go ahead and apply without hesitation.

Hi

I need one help regarding using the app.
I am in UK and trying to fill the application for my kids but I am not getting the app option to chose because I am directly taking to the apply page which is shown below. How do I get the app chose page ?

Thank you very much for the reply. couple of weeks ago I could see that but now its gone.
can I wait or go ahead and do the physica biometric way?

one more question about the family consent for my spouse, where should I upload this document? in Mandatory category along with passport and BRP or below categories, please suggest

1. Other
2. Residence in the UK
3. Proof of Application

I removed the irrelevant categories from the list and only mentioned which I think valid

Thanks

You can wait if the child still has some validity in their current visa.

The category does not matter. The caseworker can see all files you upload.

Appointment date does not matter. They just need to submit and pay for the application before visas expiry. The biometric appointment can take place after expiry.

One question and I believe this will be final question. Its asking family consent for my kids (9 and 5 years). Do they need to sign on the part 1 or can I sign on both part 1 and 2? because I have a special child out of 2 kids who does not know any of these things.

Parents sign on behalf of the children, it is NOT the children that sign!

thank you very much for the quick reply. Do we need to sign on both part and part 2 or just the part 1 is enough ?
