British passport application for a baby born to ILR parent

Post by londonphd » Thu Jun 09, 2022 12:47 pm

Hello all.

I am having to deal with multiple fronts right now in terms of paperwork.

I applied for my son's first British passport and now sending in the documents. He was born when I had an ILR last year (now I am a naturalised Brit).
I copied the following from the online application form:

Parents’ documents
For 1 of your parents, send 1 of the following:
  • full birth or adoption certificate
  • naturalisation or registration certificate
  • the non-British passport they had when you were born showing indefinite leave to remain
As you can see the requirement is to send only one of the three documents. I am sending in my naturalisation certificate and BRP card (ILR). Do I still need to send my passport given that the requirement is to send only one of the three documents?

I need my passport for other ongoing applications.

Thank you in advance!
