canadian visa

Post by potinenir » Thu May 19, 2005 7:09 pm

Hi,
Can anyone shed some light whether an Australian PR holder needs a visitor visa to enter canada and UK. I Know that Australian PR can move around freely in New Zealand.I just want to know whether it applies to these countries also.
Thanks,

Your Oz PR is of no significance for visa free entry into either the UK or Canada beyond being evidence that you have legal long term status in Oz. Such may be of some use in applying for a visitor visa. Sorry.

Same response - sorry. Only those holding permanent residence status in the US i.e. green card can visit Canada without a visa irrespective of nationality/ citizenship. Others need to either be from a country on Canada's visa waiver list e.g. British Citizens or obtain the relevant visa. Their consulate is in Grosvenor Square, London - you can get your visit visa on the day subject to meeting the requirements. Alternatively you can post the same and have a response back within 10 working days.

Good luck
