confirm maintenance on cos using sponsor note

A general question on the start and end dates on a CoS. My initial 3 year tier 2 cos was start date 12 Aug 2019 and end date 11 aug 2022.

My visa for this period expires on 25 Aug 2022.

My new Cos has been issued with start date 26 Aug 2022 and end date 26 Aug 2024.

Should the end date rather be 25 Aug 2024, to be 2 years, or is 26 to 26 counted as 2 years? I'm thinking in terms of the IHS surcharge - whether 26 - 26 Aug will be 2 years on the dot?

Or more simply - what should the end date be on the CoS be so that in total it adds up to 5 years?

I have a CoS, but the 'maintenance' checkbox was left unchecked by mistake. Could we just add a sponsor note to say it should have been checked, or does this require a reissue?
