Money earned in your specialist field Tier 1/Global Talent to ILR question

Post by Emmy281 » Tue Jun 14, 2022 12:17 pm

I'm a Tier 1 Exceptional Promise visa holder applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain using the Global Talent route as advised on the application.

On the application it asks for evidence of money earned in your specialist field in your latest period of leave (for me while I was on my Tier 1 visa).

Question 1

I worked in this job for a year under my Tier 1 visa so applicable! The job was at a university in a History department but my specialist field is Literature. However, I was hired to do work in my specialist field - ie. I did work on Literature on an interdisciplinary project in a History Department. Apart from payslips, a letter confirming my earnings and a contract I was going to provide a letter (on official letterhead) either from the head of school or the professor who led the project (who is a Dean) confirming that I earned money in my specialist field so that it's clear - I think I need this because it might not be clear from the Department what my work was on! Do you think this is enough?

Question 2
I am currently working in another job for a non-UK employer (remotely in the UK). This is also in my specialist field (and the contracts clearly. The money for this post goes into a non-UK bank account but I've filed and paid taxes on this income in the UK. This job title is my specialist field. However 1) do posts for non-UK companies count? 2) Do I need to include this if above is sufficient for showing I earned money in my specialist field? The one bonus of this job is my job title matches the specialist field so I wouldn't need an accompanying letter like above.

I'm also a bit confused about whether my second job is eligible where I worked remotely in the UK for a non-UK institution. I 'earned money' working remotely but the funds went into a non-UK bank account so does it still work in terms of 'earning money in the UK'. I did of course pay UK tax on this income and have this paperwork.

Though I suppose if my first job fulfils the requirements perhaps no need to even supply the information from the second job.

Evidence contact detail for Bank Statements Global talent to ILR

Post by Emmy281 » Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:16 pm

Hello,

I am currently filling out my Indefinite Leave to Remain Application on the Tier 1Talent/Global talent route.

The application asks for evidence contact details that allow each of the documents provided to be verified as necessary.

I have contact details for all my documents except for my Barclays bank statements (which I downloaded from online). I can't seem to get any help from Barclays on the best way to provide contact information for verification (my local branch hasn't been helpful and when I rang they just said (like the poster below) to use the customer service number which I doubt would help!

I did see a similar question (in the link below) but could not see if it was resolved.

indefinite-leave-to-remain/ilr-document ... 26037.html

I do have other evidence to confirm I was paid - a letter from payroll with signed and stamped payslips. I also have a letter from HR which confirms payment.

Should I 1) not include the bank statements 2) include them but not provide contact details 3) or simply provide a generic customer service Barclays number that won't be of much help to verify the statements.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

You do not need to provide any contact details for a known bank :? Any evidence that obviously can be verified is enough.

Global Talent to ILR Previous passports

Post by Emmy281 » Thu Jul 07, 2022 6:38 pm

Hello,

I've collected my paperwork for my Tier 1 to Indefinite Leave to Remain. However, I'm stuck on one final thing.

It says please provide 'all previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards the you have used to travel to or remain in the UK'

Do this mean every single passport even those used for holidays to the UK. My first visa was in 2005 and I have all my passports from 2005 until my current one + BRP. I am applying based on my Tier 2 + Tier 1 (3 years) which is all in my current passport.

However, I did come to the UK as a child on holiday in 2015 and on a longer visit in 2001 (on a short student exchange). Do I need to also provide these passports?

Many thanks

Hopefully final question

For my bank statements I don't have hard copies but I do have Barclays statements that I can download online that look exactly like the original hardcopies. Can I upload these or do I need to order hardcopies from the bank.

More questions - I submitted with super priority status! Hooray.

I can't book an appointment yet as I received an email saying that I need to wait and see if I am eligible for the App.

I then went ahead and uploaded my documents as they were all ready.

1. Can I please confirm that for Global Talent to ILR - all my optional documents go under the category Other.
2. Can I confirm that I don't need to add any additional documents for categories like finances (I only need to provide what was requested on my checklist)
3. I have uploaded all my files and they are confirmed uploaded. However, there is no submit button...is this because I have to wait until I hear back about the app - ie. is it not possible to submit my documents yet?

Any help would be appreciated as I just spent a few hours uploading!

Thank you so much :)

Update - I refreshed and could submit my documents so all done now.

However, no appointments are available anywhere still so I assume I have to wait for their email about whether I can use the app or not?
