Dependent Documents Checklist-Applying tier1 general

Post by ankreeti » Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:27 pm

Hello,

Can anyone please update a list of documents which are required to be submitted for dependents. I am aspiring for initial tier1 general application.
All i can find on border and immigration site is
DISPLAY MAINTENANCE FUND IN BANK ACCOUNT.I think a complete list should at least have:
1. Dependents' Bank Statement with required funds
2. Dependents' Passport - I know its obvious but we can miss the obvious.
3. Dependents' Photographs - Could not find any mention
4. Marriage certificate
5. For children, Passport with atleast one parent name endorsed.

Please note that i have not found it anywhere and i feel that these docs should be provided. Am i planning too much documents ?
Am i missing other obvious docs?

Everyone with experience of submitting tier 1 with dependents, can you please embark on this.

Regards

What a blunder i would have made... many thanks..

Please correct me if i am wrong..

I am planning to apply for my dependents in the same application.I will be applying from UK. As per my revised understanding (thanks to your comment), i need to fill 3 forms:
1. Tier 1 Application form - (proofs for claimed points)
2. Tier 1 Dependent Application Form (1 for spouse and 1 for kid)

As i will be applying everything in one single application, i will get a fee exemption for my spouse and kid.

Documents :
1. 2 Photographs
2. Maintenance Funds
3. Passports
4. Marriage certificate

Is there anything which i am missing

I deeply appreciate your help.. thanks a ton
is there any other form which i am missing

2. Tier 1 Dependent Application Form (1 for spouse and 1 for kid)
For you, you have to fill in VAF9 and Appendix for VAF9
For each dependant, VAF10 and Appendix has to be filled in.
So, two documents for you (VAF9 & VAF9 Appendix), two documents each for each of your dependant(VAF10 & VAF10 Appendix)
As i will be applying everything in one single application, i will get a fee exemption for my spouse and kid.
Life is not that lucky here, you have to pay visa fees equally for you and each of your dependants.
On whole three equal amounts of visa fees.

Hi,
ramgsk, I think u missed out the point that he is applying in the U.K. Both the forms and the fee structure is different if one applies from within the U.K
Immigration law is mystery and a mastery in obfuscation, and the lawyers who can figure that out are worth their weight in gold.

i agree.. forms for UK Tier1 and tier1 dependents are different. Also, attached is the excerpt from tier1 dependent application form..
The applicable fee
For an application made on this form, the fee is £395
unless the dependant meets the criteria given to be
considered free of charge.
Free of charge - for this application to be considered
free of charge, the dependant must be the spouse,
civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner, or child
under 18 of the main applicant. Furthermore the
dependant’s application must be made at the same time
as the main applicant’s application. To assist in the
processing of the application, you are advised to send
any dependant applications in the same envelope as
that of the main applicant.
Ram, as there is a tier1 dependent application form, i guess i can apply for my dependents when i am applying from UK

As per the aforesaid statement from the application form, (Why paying fees is always the first thing on all british forms :-)), i think i am elligible for getting dependent application evaluated free of charge.

Please advise if i have missed anything which is written between the lines.

I must say.. this forum is rocking.. cheers everyone

Nothing is free.

Depenent will also be charged. Please check Visa fees - Category: Points Based System (PBS).

Primary and dependents have to same fees i.e. GBP 600 each.

i beg to differ ram,

if you are applying from UK, and if your dependents are applying with you, and they are either your spouse or civil partner or kid (under 18), you do not need to pay fees for their application.

Also, if they apply later seperately, the fees is 395

I guess UK is getting too hard on we indians. it is not fair to charge 600 per dependent.

Successful tier 1 applicants from UK, please comment. I will appreciate.. thanks
