Standard requirements for naturalisation wrote:Breach of immigration laws during residential qualifying period
You must have been in the United Kingdom legally throughout the residential qualifying period. We may refuse your naturalisation application if you have breached the immigration laws during the residential qualifying period.
If you came to the United Kingdom as an asylum applicant, you would be considered in breach of the immigration rules if your application for refugee status and any appeals were refused during the residential qualifying period. You would also be in breach of the immigration rules if you entered the United Kingdom illegally and obtained refugee status during the residential qualifying period.
It normally takes some months for a piece of legislation to pass through all stages of Parliament. I would have thought that the Life in the UK Test syllabus should include this information.llNicell wrote:Hi,
Recent updates on BIA website state that citizenship bill is being put in parliament in January 2009 for approval. If bill approved, will this bill be implemented immediately (January 2009)?
Sorry, there is absolutely not a requirement for anyone to be employed, or self-employed, for any time at all before making their applications. To gain British Citizenship there are specific things you must comply with for instance you have to have been working full time for a period of twelve months. If you are self employed other rules apply.
This idiot is trying to sell on the forum AND the information above is total pants.aj2008 wrote: Hi All,
