DNA request from HMPO (stuck)

Post by Imransyed295 » Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:15 pm

I applied for my children's first British passport back in dec 2021. The application has progressed to DNA stage.
I am stuck on one thing:
In the vfs global website, it is requesting mother and father HMPO reference number, but I wasn't given one. Only child's references were given.
Does anyone know what I'm supposed to put there?

Children are 11, 10 and 6
They said documents weren't enough to prove link to children

Did you provide a legally recognised marriage certificate to HMPO?

Also, were you a British citizen at the time of the birth of the children? If not, what was your immigration status at the time of the birth of the children?

I think you should reply back to them stating that as the husband of the mother is automatically considered the father for the purposes of nationality, the marriage certificate should be enough and that a DNA certificate should not be required.

If they dispute that, ask for why they do not consider the marriage certificate (or the marriage ) valid.

Were either of you also married to someone else at the time of the children's births?

Analogously, a High Court judgment (60) found an ECO’s fixation on DNA tests, to the exclusion of all other evidence, to be unlawful.
