Dependent tier 2 to ILR

Post by Ravi1981 » Sun Jul 24, 2022 3:45 pm

Hello..
I and my family will be applying for ILR in October from PSB TIER 2 visa.
My time line is as follows:
1st Visa date. 10/10/2017 to 30/10/2020
2nd Visa date. 17/11/2020 to 30/11/2022.
I came to this country on 17 Oct 2017 and never left.
My wife and son applied for dependent visa in July 2018 and came in this country On July 29th.
Their BRP shows
9/07/2018 to 30/10 2020 and 17/11/2020 to 30/11/2022.
Now my question is I am eligible for ILR after 10th Oct 22 but my wife and son are short of 9 months and their visa expires on 30 November 2022 aswell.
Can they apply for ILR Along with me as dependent or they'll have to wait?
If so, do they have to apply for some visa extension?

Thanks,

They don't qualify to apply with you. They need 5 years counted from the initial visa issue date.

They will have to apply for an extension, which will be a 3 year extension.

Thanks for the prompt reply..
You mentioned that I have to apply for a 3 years extension for my wife and my son. Can you please suggest what type of extension visa would that be?
Also are there any other short term extension I could opt for (1 or 2 years) as I don't intend to spend too much on that as I am running too tight on finances.
Sorry if I bother too much, but I am applying on my own without any solicitors help.

Thanks.

PBS Dependent extension.

There is no shorter visa option. The immigration rules state a PBS Dependent extension will be for three years. You don't have a choice of a lesser duration.

Dependent ILR

Post by Ravi1981 » Tue Jul 26, 2022 11:08 am

Urgent Help needed!!
I will be completing my 5 years on 10/10/2022 and will be applying for ILR right after, via priority service.

However my wife and my son joined 10 month after I first came to this country.
Our current visa expires on 30/11/2022.
So far what I have learnt is, they are eligible for ILR only after they have completed 5 years in this country.
My question is..
1) So after my ilr is done I might have some time to apply for my family's dependent visa. So what visa I should go for?
2) any chance I can apply for their dependent visa along with my application?
3) what is the best and cheapest visa option to fill those 10 months gap?

Thanks..

Dependent visa extension IHS PAYMENTS

Post by Ravi1981 » Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:52 pm

I looked for the answers but couldn't find the specific one hence, the need of this post.
I have a doubt for IHS fees payments.
Here is my situation.
I recently got my ILR via tier 2 general
My wife and my son came as dependent to me 4 years and 3 months ago. Could not do their Ilr as they were short of 9 months, hence applying for PBS DEPENDENT extension. Their visa dens on 30/11/2022.
Now while applying I filled extension for 3 years or less and in IHS Payments, in my cos details, I gave my new BRP ending date. I.e. 31/12/2024.
The payable fees comes to £312 for my wife and £235 for my son. That's iguess for 6 months only.
Am I doing something wrong or should I continue with this.

There is no PBS-dependent visa for skilled workers as Tier 2 route does not exist anymore. It is the skilled worker dependant visa now
The entered date must bring the IHS calculations to 3 years which is the minimum visa length issued for this route.
DO NOT simply enter your BRP card expiry date which is the end of 2024. This is the date on which all the BRPs will be phased out. ILR status has NO expiry date :!: Underpaying IHS will delay their application as you'll be asked to top up the payment.
