Original documents not returned by home office

Post by Farooqp » Sun Nov 16, 2008 5:29 pm

My employer recently applied for work permit extension. He attached original work permit along with approval letter of previous extension with the new application.

Home Office granted the extension with in 5 days of applying. However, they didn't send back the original documents. I have been trying to contact them for last one week on phone with no luck. Then dropped them an email 4 days back with no reply so far.

Is this home office policy to not return original work permit? Can I apply for FLR without original wp? Thanks for your reply in advance.

Your employer can try to get them back.

However, you can apply for ILR without the original WP.

You should ask for the WP back. There is no reason why the HO should keep it.
