Spouse ILR application query

Post by PRPRAVEEN » Tue Aug 16, 2022 1:20 pm

Hello,

I have ILR status now and my spouse will be eligible to apply for ILR in November as dependent on my current Tier 2 visa.

I have few queries on my current employment.

1. If I want to shift to another employer, what would happen to my spouse dependent visa? Will it be cancelled because I am no longer with employer who sponsored my Tier 2 visa. Does she require another visa to stay in the UK?

2. If I shift to another employer, do they need to sponsor my dependents? I don't see any such visa unless I am the main applicant.

3. My child is born in the UK, I hope I can apply for his naturalisation without applying for ILR.

1. Nothing will happen. It doesn't get cancelled. She is dependent on YOU, not your Tier 2 sponsor.

2. No

3. Children are REGISTERED as British. Only adults are naturalised. Please ask your citizenship questions in the British Citizenship sub form. These questions are not relevant to the ILR sub forum and topics.
