Visa delays may mean a cancelled holiday

Post by travellingbuglife » Fri Aug 19, 2022 11:14 am

Hi all,

So I am on a Tier 2 in the UK with an employer and had holidays booked for the end of September to travel overseas. However, over the last week, I received a job offer from another company also in the UK and decided to accept the job offer. This means the company will need to start a change in the Visa status.

I thought this would be very fast, but I'm hearing there are massive delays in Tier 2 in-country process. Do you think I should just cancel the trip (I've booked the flight to the USA), or is there a way to expedite the process. I saw in the Timeline chat someone did a Super Priority application and got their BRP back within 2 weeks which is outstanding. How much does it cost to put it through Super Priority?

Super priority costs an extra £800 but is also not a guaranteed service or always available. It is only available if there is capacity.

Thanks! That was helpful. What is the estimated timeframe for a Super Priority application? (Understood it's just a guideline)!
