Didn't they use 1st class recorded delivery? There should be a sticker with a tracking number so it's more secure.

Particularly with a big border control agency return address sticker on the back, I'm glad they didn't dissapear. Did I miss an application step in ensuring that they were sent back registered mail? I would have thought the extra cost of registered post might have been included in the £750....

Yes, you can apply early. If you read back 2 posts from yours, you'll realize I applied 8 weeks early. If you read more threads, you'll realize people have successfully applied even earlier than 8 weeks.

All,

I am glad to inform you all that today I received my documents with Visa stamped. I applied for extension under JR.

Just to let you know that I called HO yesterday and I was told that my case is with CW and still under consideration. And today I received the documents. So I would suggest not to rely on HO CC and its just a waiting game.

I would like to extend my massive thanks to all the members of this forum.

Wish you all the very best.

Cheers!
Jackie

It said the same when I got the letter for application under JR. Now that I have got approval I can say they need another template for the letter.

Hi everyone,
Got my passport back on 17/10/2008. Was quite surprised to get it back so soon. My advise to all of you is to keep your application simple. I have seen so many people on this forum sending unnecessary documents which complicates and delays things. I have seen people putting different documents in different envelopes, letters explaining things, etc. The CWs are not dumb but dont confuse them with unnecessary stuff, numerous phone calls. As you can see I got my passport back in 21 days.

Application sent: 25/09/2008
Reference number: Received 10/10/2008 but dated 29/09/2008
Fee deducted: 1/10/2008
Visa Stamp dated: 15/10/2008
Passport received: 17/10/2008

HSMP Extension

Post by badimesr » Sat Oct 25, 2008 1:40 am

Hi,

I am currently on HSMP and my visa is valid until Oct 2009. For some reason, I need to apply for extension in March 2009 itself. Is it possible for me to apply for extension in March 2009 or I will have to wait until Sep 2009. Thanks.

Best Regards.

7 months is a very long time. I've seen applications get approved 3-4 months early for valid reasons (travel, job search). But not 7. If you have a valid reason, I guess they can do it. You can call the HO first to be sure. Good luck.

I wanted to extend my visa early for some reason too. My HSMP is expring in Sept 2009. At first i enquired HO and they replied, you could do it anytime, as it is switching. But then for safe side, i sent another email and they replied, you need a very strong reason, and application made so early are likely to be refused.

Anyone out there who faced the similar situation.

This is the reply I received from HO.Hope this might help you.

Thank you for your email.

In reply to your email, I can confirm that you are able to apply in December. It is recommended to send in an additional cover letter explaining whyyou are applying early.
I hope this is helpful.

Yours Sincerely,

Endorsement issue

Post by navnas » Wed Nov 12, 2008 4:28 pm

Hi Guys , just to get any advise if anybody got the same issue . i recently got my FLR HSMP but on my endorsement the order of my name is First name and then Surname .
In all previous endorsements/visa stamps the order was Surname , Firstname.

i know this might be not so important but just to get some info from any one having the same issue .

Hi Guys ,
just want to get any advise on my current situation and FLR. I entered UK on 23 Dec. 2007 with HSMP visa valid for 2 years until Dec. 2009. I earned my point on my degree (30 points) and past earnings (45 points) in my Initial HSMP application.

I was doing my job from Feb 15h, 2008 to August 15th, 2008 with GBP 48000/yr. Since mid August I have been redundant and lost my job. Although I am searching but due to the wide spread recession it became very hard to get even half the salary what I was getting initially.

I missed the wonderful chance last week, when I got the interview call, cleared the interview, but during process they found that I have only 1 year left on my visa and they rejected me on the basis. despite of my several attempts to convince them that HSMP visa is very easy to extend but in vain.

I want to know now, that
1/ How long I could be unemployed?

2/ What effect would my unemployment casts on my FLR application in Dec. 2009?

3/ What will happen if I don't have continuous 12 months pay slips, prior to my FLR?

4/ Since I have to achieve at least another 40 points for my past earnings, additional to my degree (30 pts) and UK exp (5pts), what income should I achieve to earn 40 points?

5/ What will happens if I fall short of the required earnings?

6/ Can I make request to exempt me for few points just because of the Recession?

7/ Or should I make earlier request for my FLR, just not to repeat the last weeks disappointment??

I will appreciate if you advice me on above mentioned points, or should I not waste my time and energy and roll back my plans....

Thanks & Regards,

nsm2010
