Naturalisation application through the App

Post by sunshine_girl9 » Sat Sep 17, 2022 11:10 am

Good morning
I am hoping for some advice regarding application made through the UKVCAS app.
Has anyone used the app and how was your experience.

I have sent all docs through the app and haven't heard a thing except a confirmation to say submission has been sent to ukvi. No update re brp etc.

Any information and advice gratefully received.
Thanks

There won't be a BRP issued for citizenship ...

Biometrics are no longer done by the Post Office - it's now done by UKVCAS where you would have needed an appointment.
When you say "applied through the UKVCAS app" you mean the "IDV" app? Were you told you could use the IDV app? In that case you wouldn't be required to have an appointment as they could use your prior biometrics. Your expectation of doing the biometrics at the Post Office is worrying. Perhaps you can explain how exactly you applied?

Apologies, I'm not sure how to amend my post
I applied for naturalisation on ukvi website, paid my fees, and got a confirmation email to say payment was successful and I should wait 10-14 days for them to check if I can send my docs by app.

Within 14 days I got an email saying I need to download the app and upload docs, do a picture etc

I did that and never heard anything about biometrics.

There is no separate Biometrics appointment if you have used the IDV app for your photo and documents.

You won't hear anything further. You simply have to wait now for the outcome.

As CR001 says. Basically, it's one of two options:

A) You have do a biometrics appointment
B) Your previous biometrics are recycled, and you just take a picture through the app

You have been assigned option B.
