absent time out of the state

Post by kyk00525 » Mon Sep 19, 2022 12:02 pm

is the 6 weeks allow out of the states based on the calendar year or the visa time period?
and is that each of five year or just the year before you apply the citizenship?

thx

6 weeks per year is not clear if it's per year or between stamp dates. In my own opinion, leaving 6 weeks between 1st January and 31st December for each year makes more sense.

6 weeks applies for both situations. If you leave more than 6 weeks in a year you need to mark that field in application form, also explain the reason and deduct 6 weeks+ from that year's residency calculator for each year. Also if you are away for more than 6 weeks, 1 year before your application date, which is called continous residency, you can't apply for citizensip and need to wait that time is less than 6 weeks.
