eVetting Link

Post by puri123 » Sat Aug 27, 2022 5:28 pm

Hi,

I am new on this forum. I have a general question that how long does it take to receive the eVetting Link by NVB to an applicant by email for an Irish Citizenship.

Thank you.

There is no median at hand. Your best bet is timeline threads, look through them and compare the dates to your situation. Here's a 2021 application one - ireland/2021-citizenship-applications-t ... 11848.html

Hi,

i have a question for my friend as well that after eVetting Disclosure is viewed and he received a letter from the department in response to his letter for an up date as when the decision will be made on his application, stating that application continues to be processed in normal ways, what does it mean?

Thank you.

seems like a generic response to say it to everyone as long as they don't need anything from them at this stage
doubt they'll specify anything on an update really
the friend just need to wait

My wife has not received her eVetting link after submitting the form more than a month ago. Has anyone else heard of similar situations? We are quite concerned something has gone wrong.

Hi All,

If you don't remember ALL the addresses you have lived since your birth :| (!) as requested by vetting, what do you do ? Is it ok to put only the ones you remember?

For a recent timeline: I received my letter by post on Monday - filled it out and returned it the same day. By Tuesday afternoon I received the link in my inbox and completed the online vetting. They have not reviewed it yet though as of today (Friday).. so more waiting now and just hoping I get in for the December ceremonies if everything else checks out! BTW: I applied in June 2021

Her application form on was received by the department on 2 August 2022. She has sent a letter and an email asking what is happening with no response :(

When you say application form, are you referring to the application for citizenship? Or did she apply in the last year or 2 and receive the letter for e-vetting and that is what you returned and can see it’s been reviewed by the NVB when you use the tracking link?

Sorry for the confusion. She submitted the eVetting form on 2 August 2022 and has not received the eVetting link, so she has not been able to do the eVetting process. She applied for citizenship on 26 May 2021.

Did she return the letter via registered post or just standard post? I would continue to try to reach them. Stop into your local citizens info even as sometimes they have direct back phone lines to them and can ring them for you. They rang INIS for me one time and I spoke directly to someone. In the letter it explicitly states the application will become canceled if the e-vetting letter is not returned within 28 days. If you don’t have proof of delivery (ie registered post) they may deem it lost and cancel the application. I got my letter last week, retuned it, got the link and already have it fully completed by them. Something is not right as it should not take this long.

Thank you. So the e-vetting would happen sometime around 15 months after the date of application. Thanks

I know somebody who had not received theirs too. Someone apparently made an error when inputting their email address into the system.
My suggestion would be to reach out to Garda on their email. I heard they are very good. They will get in touch with NVB to get things done.

Following your suggestion we emailed the garda vetting team and they got back immediately saying

"You will have to get back to the organisation who is intimating the process. The organisation concerned will create you a link which you will receive by email and this link contains the application ID for you to begin the vetting process".

So, unfortunately it looks like that route won't work and it's the citizenship team with the issue.

Thanks for the idea though, it was definitely worth a try.

She did register the post so we have some proof we submitted something to them within 28 days. Hopefully this would be enough to avoid that situation.

We will definitely give your suggestion a try, hopefully Citizens Info can be as helpful to us.

Thanks nmurph!
