for 30 months on the 10- year route to settlement - private life route.

Post by Dark_matter » Tue Oct 04, 2022 2:39 am

I have been granted 2.5 years of LTR by fulfilling the 20 years in the UK. It's unclear gov sites whether I can bring dependents to the UK.

My question is can I bring dependents to the UK?

1) spouse
2) child
3) parent

Is it possible for someone can explain to me what I can or I can not do?

Thank you in advance.

My question is can I bring dependents to the UK?Anyone with any kind of leave in the UK can do that.

1) spouse Yes
2) child Yes
3) parent Yes, better chance for visiting, almost impossible for moving in.

Is it possible for someone can explain to me what I can or I can not do? Just make an application to join family in the UK.

Thank you in advance.

This is incorrect. On FLR(FP) 10 year route, they can only sponsor spouse/children once they have ILR.

Also, if the children are over 18, which is possible given that the OP has been in the UK for 20 years, they cannot sponsor their children.

https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse
Apply as a partner or spouse
To apply as a partner, you and your partner both need to be 18 or over.

Your partner must also either:

be a British or Irish citizen
have settled in the UK - for example, they have indefinite leave to remain, settled status or proof of permanent residence
be from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and have pre-settled status - they must have started living in the UK before 1 January 2021
have a Turkish Businessperson visa or Turkish Worker visa
have refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK
You and your partner must intend to live together permanently in the UK after you apply.
