Traveling while citizenship application is in process

Post by Fatimajafri » Thu Oct 27, 2022 9:58 am

Hi all,

I applied for naturalisation on 10th July. Now I have to travel in 2 months time. I know I can travel on my ILR if my citizenship application is still not decided by the time I travel. If, however, I get an approval & invitation to book ceremoney, when does my ILR BRP become void? I don't know if ceremony & then passport application etc can be sorted by the time I have to travel. Is it better to go for the ceremony once I come back?

You are only British AFTER you have attended your ceremony and not from date of approval.

Plan accordingly.
