Can spouse visit me

Hello everyone.

I'm a EU national-Portugal, been a month in the Uk and have just started working. My wive is non-EU, living in Portugal with my parents and applying for residency there, before she can apply for a EU family permit to join me.

I would like to know if she could come over to visit me for a month.
Is it much hassle, does she need any entry clearance, if she is held back would that affect her application for family permit and lastly if she comes can she apply for residency here.
