Forget to upload docs

I’m asking on behalf of my friend she has an appointment today later on today.

All the documents needed she uploaded but didn’t submit. She was saying she supposed to submit 48 hrs before her appointment.

Is there any penalty or UKVCAS charge if they submit the documents? Or her application is invalid because she didn’t submit the documents on time.
