ILR 5 year completion clock - PBS Dependent to Skilled Worker Visa

Post by hk2014 » Thu Apr 29, 2021 2:36 pm

Dear All,

I am currently on a PBS Dependent visa since 2019 and going to switch to a Skilled worked visa. In order to be eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain, will my time as PBS dependent count, or will the clock reset and I need to complete 5 years from 2021 onwards( when my skilled worker visa will start)?

Please could the experts throw some light here?

Regards
HK

PBS Dependant + Skilled Worker Visa - Eligible for ILR?

Post by hk2014 » Sat Dec 10, 2022 9:12 am

Hi,

I came to UK in 2019 on PBS Dependant visa as my wife got 3 years of Tier 2 visa. In 2021, I got sponsorship from my employer of a 5 year Skilled Worker Visa until 2026 and I became primary applicant while my wife became dependant.

My question is since my date of entry in UK is June 2019 so, can I apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after July 2024 considering that I complete my 5 years of continuous stay in UK (on a PBS Dependant visa + Skilled Worker Visa).

Please advise.

Thanks

No. You can't combine skilled worker and dependent visas unless it's for long residence route (10 years).
