Hello, sorry for issue with the spreadsheet, I didn't realise that it was hosted on a gmail account that was deleted. I've managed to recover it here and will merge them shortly

Spreadsheet

Thanks for your help and happy for you to also be an editor/coowner? It is now hosted on my personal gmail account that will never disappear
Having two would be confusing, so having one is better.
Yes, I'd like to be an editor. I requested edit access to your spreadsheet. It's in "View Only" right now.

Good to see they are on November now. I'm January 2022. They seem to be jumping through the months very very fast. Better start frequently checking my emails. I'm starting to get nervous lol

Congratulations!!!

Thanks it was surprise because I was expecting it towards the end of next year, the combination of extra staff and the pause in applications must have helped massively.

I should have done it 20 years ago when I first collected all of the births certs etc with the intention of doing it. It was much cheaper then as well! 3 children later and I killed off the link for them by being lazy. If anybody is reading this and thinking about doing it, do it now!

How is the Address Confirmation done? Over phone or email?

I’m November 29th 2021 docs rec’d so wanting to make sure I don’t miss anything!

EDIT: can’t see how to delete a post but just noted the “address confirmation email” 😂

Awesome! Hopefully they get to yours before Christmas otherwise I doubt it will be long after. I really hope they don't reject me for some spurious reason as I am SO excited to potentially be an Irish citizen. It has actually shocked me how excited/emotional I am about it. I feel very lucky and grateful to the country/Irish state. Mushy but true!

Same here. I feel very fortunate I am able to do this - just hope there are no hiccups in the process but I am sure I sent everything required. It makes me a bit emotional too when I really think about it. Best of luck with your application!!

If it's the same as the passport office they are closed 24th - 27th Dec and then 31st Dec - 2nd Jan.

They'll be open on 28th-30th Dec and then open again 3rd Jan.

Probably an impossible question to answer but... I am a Sept 22 applicant - what are the predications that I will hear back sometime next year?

I know the waiting time is still 2 years officially but I have seen lots of 2021 applications receive address confirmation/congratulations email. I know there was a lot more applicants in 2022 though and don't want to get my hopes up. But it would be amazing if I heard back sometime next year. In theory, my application should be an easy one as I managed to get hold of the requested docs quite easily and you can easily see the link between me, my dad and Irish nan.. but then who knows lol

Can't wait to become Irish!! Not only because it makes me part of the EU again but also because I am super proud of my Irish heritage :)

I've seen November and December 2021 applications get their confirmation of address email on here so I'd wager there is a decent chance you'll hear back in 2022. Not entirely sure though. Depends on application numbers but I doubt there will be a Brexit style backlog like we saw in 2019 and early 2020. I'm a January 2022 applicant and I'm currently keeping a close eye on my emails.

Between January 1 and September 30, 2022, there were 21,001 FBR applications submitted according to that very useful data someone got from the FBR office a couple months ago. The Foreign Ministry also said that in October 2022, the FBR office processed about 5,000 applications per month but hoped to increase that number in the coming months. I'm an October 2022 applicant, so with all of this in mind, I think it's reasonable I could hear from them around May or June of 2023. So I think it's very feasible a September 2022 applicant could hear back around that some time.

Yeah, if the spreadsheet is indicative of the backlog and they continue at the pace they have been, they should continue to shrink the wait time.

I'd bet they have a goal to get the average under 12 months.
