Maintenance fund… or my silly mistake?

Post by whyuve » Sat Sep 27, 2008 3:11 pm

I think I made a silly mistake in maintenance fund for the £800-three-month. The problem is that my opening balance is less than £800, but after 2 days it’s sufficient every single transaction to be more than £800. My bank statements are 7 May to 6 June, 7 June to 6 July, 7 July to 6 Aug. But my funds are less than £800 on 7 May, but more than £800 on 8 May….and since then.

Will I be rejected?? I don’t want to be pay another £750 because of 2 days less than £800 in bank…. :(

As per the policy guidance, you must show that you have maintained the funds for min. 3 months.
If your latest bank statement shows funds until EOD 06-Aug, then you must provide evidence that the balance never fell below 800 pounds between 07-May and 06-Aug (3 calendar months).

thanks for your reply. My bank statement from 7 Aug to 6 Sep is also above £800. Will it help in any other way?

Yes

Yes,

Attach your bank statements from 7th June to 6th Sept as maintainence fund evidence. That should be enough if the balance never went below £800 at any given time.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice. But my application is already submitted. They should not expect additional documents without telling me to do so. It will be an additional to the appeal if application refused.

I have called HO earlier today. They have confirmed me to post my newest bank statement dated from 7 Aug to 6 Sep, then there should be no problem in my application.

The address for additional documents:

UK Border Agency
Tier 1 (General)
Vulcan House
6 Millsands
Sheffield
S3 8NU

Hi whyuve,
is your application got approved? Please share your results with us.

Appriciate if any one comment on this.

sushdmetha can u you pls explain that the rule is 3 calendar months or 90 calendar days its because if it is 3 calendar months my understanding would be funds should be there in the bank for more than 90 days (probably 91 or 92 or 93 days) is it so? When i see some people are discussing about they have completed 90 days and planning to apply immediately so kind of confusion. can any seniors also shed some light?

Well the guidance clearly says 3 months and not 90 days:
If you are applying from within the United Kingdom, the balance must show that you have had at least £800 in your account at all times over the three-month period.

I am in the similar situation.

I submitted my Tier 1 (General) application on the 27th Dec 2008, with all the needed documents.

I have included three months bank statement, all three have the CLOSING BALANCE of more than 800 pounds. But, there There are merely 4 DAYS in the statement show less than 800 pounds (700+). To make thing worse, this is a continuously 4 days in the middle of the 3-mth period!

I have another bank account statement, can prove the sufficient funds, but only for the 3 days (out of 4)!!!

So, even if I send the additional documents next week, I will be rejected too (due to that 1-day insufficient fund!). I am completely lost and depressed now!

Regards
