Employer asking to start work - Visa under process

Hi, I have recently applied to update my SWV as I have changed my employer and the application is under process. My employer is asking me to start work while the application is under process. Please suggest is it advisable to do this? What could be the fallout?

You cannot do this. Your new employer should be very aware of the rules.

No it is not. You are not permitted to work for a new employer until your new Skilled Worker visa is granted. Until the new visa is granted, your visa conditions strictly attached to your last employer remain in force, meaning you can ONLY work for the employer who sponsored your last visa.

You will be in breach of the immigration rules. You are not allowed to work for a new employer until your new visa has been granted.
