Which B1 Exam to take GESE or ISE

Post by mark2019 » Sun Jan 08, 2023 6:24 pm

Hello Guys, hope you are all well.

My wife is doing her spouse visa extension soon and we are looking to do the B1 exam so when we go for ILR in 2.5 years we can re use it.

Does she need to do B1 SELT GESE? SELT ISE? Or both?

Many Thanks

Spouse Extension Checklist

Post by mark2019 » Sun Feb 19, 2023 1:18 pm

Hello Guys Hope You Are All Well.

Can someone look at the list below and let me know if I am missing anything?

Passports
BRP
English B1
Marriage Certificate
6 months payslips - me not applicant
6 months corresponding bank statements - me not applicant
2 Years evidence of cohabitation in both your names
March 2021 - Water Statement
June 2021 - Insurance confirmation
September 2021 - Bank Statement
Nov 2021 - Energy Statement
February 2022 - Water Statement
May 2022 - Energy Statement
July 2022 - Water Statement
October 2022 - Energy Statement
Jan 2023 - Bank Statement

Do I require a letter from work confirming employment or is the above enough?

Many Thanks

Yes do add letter from your employer confirming:

-you are employed there
-the job title or position you hold
-how long you have worked there
-the type of contract (for example, permanent, fixed term)
-what you earn before tax and National Insurance
-how long you have been paid your current salary
-the payslips are genuine

Many Thanks

Thank you for your reply.

I get commission every month also, is it ok to just get them to confirm the basic as my commission varies?

Have I missed off any other documents I will need to submit?

Many Thanks

Am I required to provide my P60 or will just the last 6 months payslips suffice?

Many Thanks

No.

Yes, plus 6 months bank statements.

Re employer letter, they should mention that part of your package is commission that is variable, otherwise the letter won't match what your payslips and bank statements state is your income.

Thank you

I spoke with my HR department today and said they have a template for these letters. I will make sure that all the pints you have both mentioned are in the letter.

I feel this visa seems a lot easier and less stressful than the original Spouse one.

I've spent a total 3.5 hours filling out the application which we'll submit in a few weeks time! It is quite okay to fill out but the sheer dread of explaining WHY it would impactful if the application was refused/where you could live if you could is just... silly.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

Will evidence such a tenancy agreement or proof of home ownership not be required for extension in this case?

When you fill out the form at the end before submission UKVI do include a checklist, it is very exhaustive and you'll need to supply everything. If you do own a home, then provide the mortgage agreement you had in place, title deed, home insurance & council tax.

I supplied the mortgage agreement I had in place from Dec 2019 ahead of the FLR FP -> FLR M switch in 2020 so I intend to re-use that.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

Won't be an issue, just don't forget to print and sign then scan the declaration forms.

Also all pages need to be scanned for applicant passport.

When are you planning to submit the application? We will plan for March 7th - a day after OH lands from abroad. Application is in order and ready to go.

I think we are going to sit down and go over it this weekend.

I wish you luck. Which visa are you going for? The spouse extension?

Yes its a spouse FLR M extension. Application documents and cover letter is ready. Just need to hit the next button to get declaration forms to sign and submit. We may just do the 5 day service to get a quicker decision.

Go through the form, it is pretty simple to fill out. Good luck and any questions keep to this thread loads of experts to help you out!.
