Hi,
First extension, on 10 year route.
I found it helpful to read other people's timelines.
Timelines from submission to approval (or still awaiting approval) of 12, 18, 22 months were just depressing. Though it's useful to know the truth, albeit the sad truth.
I recently saw a timeline from submission to approval of 5 months and it gave me hope.
I am happy to say my timeline is in this later category.
My timeline is,
Application submitted: early September 2022
Biometric enrolled: mid September 2022
Decision Email/Letter: early March 2023
Time elapsed to grant of approval: ~6 months.
All the best to those still waiting. I hope I shared some hope with you.
If you are just too tired of waiting and feel helpless, I recommend you re-apply, but this time chose the Super Priority service. You will have to pay the fees and IHS again, plus £800. You will be refunded the fees and IHS, but not the £800.
The process is explained here:

You can find out if your visa type is eligible for Super Priority service here:

The day I discovered I could re-apply with the Super Priority service option and get a decision by the end of the next working day, I got a little peace of mind. Even though I couldn't immediately afford paying the application fees again plus £800, I still felt better knowing that the whole thing was not entirely out of my hands. Maybe in a few months' time I will have the money, I thought.
